The location of the lodge was absolutely stunning, surrounded by hills and lush landscapes. the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They even made special preparations for my friend's birthday, which was a lovely surprise. the cacao tour was fantastic, and we learned so much about the process of making chocolate. the guide spoke excellent English and explained everything thoroughly.

There were a couple of aspects that were disappointing. we signed up for a chocolate-making class for two people and paid for it accordingly.

our recent stay at the cacao lodge in bijagua was amazing. it truly exceeded our expectations. from the delicious coffee and chocolate welcome to the comfortable and charming accommodations, everything was perfect. the tour of the cacao plantation was educational and the dinner on the patio was delightful. we wished we could have stayed longer!

Breakfast options could be improved.

I had an amazing stay at a lovely lodge surrounded by nature. The highlight of my trip was the free cacao tour in the morning, where I learned so much about chocolate making. I even bought some caramelized cacao beans as souvenirs. The staff was friendly and served delicious home-cooked meals. The porch outside my room with hammocks and rocking chairs was the perfect place to relax. I highly recommend this place for a unique and memorable experience.

The road to the lodge was a bit rough, but manageable with a 4x4 car. Additionally, there was limited illumination at night between the accommodation and dining area.

our relaxing spa holidays at bijagua were amazing, but finca amistad cacao lodge truly exceeded our expectations. the friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and comfortable rooms made our stay unforgettable. we loved the tour of the property and the cacao plantation, and the gourmet meals were a delightful surprise. highly recommended.

Immersive chocolate farm experience with a free chocolate making tour. Easy to access and safe location, no need for 4, wheel drive. Deluxe bungalow well, equipped with mosquito nets, balcony with relaxing chairs and hammock. Surprisingly modern shower. Ceiling, mounted fan provided comfortable temperatures at night. Perfectly located for a trip to Tenorio National Park.

Customer service could improve with more English, speaking staff. Breakfast was fresh but not as tasty as expected.

The lodge offers a unique and adventurous experience with beautiful surroundings and a view of the jungle. the newer houses have a lovely aroma of wood and feature a stunning hammock on the balcony. the staff, although non-English speaking, are friendly and accommodating. the dinner served is delicious and provides a taste of local cuisine. the highlight is the hot or cold chocolate that is served with the meal. Nearby attractions such as Rio Celeste and Tenorio are easily accessible.

Felt at home, nothing to complain about.

I stayed at the Finca Amistad Cacao Lodge for a few days during my vacation. The staff were friendly and we managed to communicate despite the language barrier. The free cacao tour was insightful and we got to try some delicious chocolate. The cabin was clean and had a lovely hammock on the deck. The surroundings were peaceful and there were plenty of animals roaming around. it was a unique and welcoming experience.

Would definitely recommend this hotel.

As low-budget travelers, we loved the included cacao tour and the opportunity to make our own chocolate. the staff served delicious breakfast and dinner daily. the rustic cabin had a comfortable bed, rocking chairs, and a hammock on the deck, perfect for enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

The bungalow surrounded by gardens and forest was a delightful escape. The spaciousness of the room, with a huge bed and a terrace equipped with a big hammock and rocking chairs, provided a perfect spot for relaxation. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and cooked us a delicious homemade dinner and the best breakfast we had during our trip.

The only downside we experienced was the poor wifi connection. It was quite frustrating as we relied on it for communication and planning.

The value for money at Finca Amistad Cacao Lodge was incredible. The room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful porch overlooking the rainforest. The staff treated us like family, providing a warm welcome and delicious homemade chocolates.

Breakfast selection could have included fresh fruit and juices.

One of the best parts of our trip was the unique property we stayed at. It was not too difficult to get to and conveniently located near other attractions in the area. We were able to visit Tenorio and Rio Celeste easily from there. there was plenty to do on-site, including a chocolate workshop which we absolutely loved. It was a fun and educational experience.

The only issue we experienced was with the roofing material. As it rained during our stay, the noise of the rain hitting the metal sheets was quite deafening, making it difficult to sleep peacefully.

We had an amazing time during our stay. the chocolate making course was a highlight, allowing us to make our own delicious chocolate. the staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to accommodate us. the food was delicious, with ingredients fresh from their garden. the room was clean and comfortable, providing a cozy cottage feel. the location was perfect, nestled in the lush rainforest with a beautiful view from our private deck. We highly recommend it!

The communication surrounding activity bookings could have been better. We were not informed that some activities were offsite, causing us to arrive late.
